Pneus are a royal pain in the ass. They involve glue, stretching, inflating, popping, bloody knuckles and lots of cursing ... I hear childbirth has some similar characteristics. In 2000 we still had 2 buggies on Pneus and I swore it was the end - Barrier and Junior both had leaks in their front tires, replacing those SOBs took a lot longer than 30 seconds and a lot more bitching. Xootrs made life in the truck almost peaceful by comparison.

If you are running on spoked wheels ... dear god the fragile rims, the spoke wrench nightmares, the hours messing with the trueing stand ... and if you over tighten ... carl probably has the best war stories about nipples being pulled right through the aluminum ukais, or was that in the years after you when they farmed out the trueing? We had about 3 or 4 different hubs too, that made bearings and stub matching expensive and arduous ... crikey. Never Again.

I wonder if Pika has a pneu tire expert in every generation, or an alum guru, or a favorite local shop ... kraynics? gatto? not that overpriced place in squirrel hill?
